Privacy & analytics
Perch is a free App Store search tool. There are no accounts and we don’t sell data, run ads, or track you across other sites. Here’s exactly what we collect and why.
Anonymous usage analytics
We use PostHog (EU servers) and Vercel Web Analytics (cookie-less) to understand how the tool is used — page views, time on page, the keyword and country you search, and whether you join the early-access list. These are not linked to your identity (there is no account), and they help us decide what to build next.
Search log
When you search, we record the keyword and storefront on our server to see which searches are popular. We do not store your IP address — only a salted, one-way hash of it, used for rough “how many people” counts. The raw IP is never saved.
Early-access email
If you submit your email to the waitlist, we store it for the single purpose of notifying you when the paid rank-alerts product is ready. No spam, and we don’t share it.
Third parties
App Store ranking and screenshot data comes from Apple’s public iTunes API. Analytics are processed by PostHog (EU) and Vercel. That’s the full list.
